Indian Rhythmic Theory, Vocal Percussion, and Improvisation @ PASSPORT PROJECT!!
This workshop, taught by percussionist Josh Sherman, focuses on developing the ability to improvise in many different rhythms with greater expressivity. Explore the world of rhythm on any instrument, including explorations of rhythmic cycles, Indian rhythms, and polyrhythms, vocal percussion, thematic and structured improvisation. All levels. Bring any instrument that you are comfortable with, or learn through vocals only (traditional drum syllables, or invent your own, also through singing, rap or beatbox, etc.), or come to gather ideas and information to add to your improvisation toolbox. The classes are "stand-alone," and each will have a different focus, so drop-in or come for all four classes for the full experience! For more information on workshop, please email us at info@passportproject.org.

Passport Project honored in 'respect' project
The Passport Project Global Dance & Music Collective is featured in the Progressive Insurance Annual Report with the theme "Respect." Photographer Coke Wisdom O'Neal conceived and shot the photographs, and Progressive made this video. Our guest artist+, Mohamed (Mamadou... Sadio) Tounkara, experienced the first serious blast of winter (in his life!!) on this day, wearing a costume fit for the heat of Guinea, a few weeks after performing at the House of Blues with Passport Project in a Progressive event. Great CHILLY times!! Thank you, Progressive! LOVE!
